After School Club for November


After School Club, for students kindergarten through the fourth grade, will meet on Tuesday, November 24, at 4 p.m. Charlotte's Web will be our feature for the month. We'll read a portion of the greatly loved story and learn a bit about E. B. White. In addition, there will be some fun crafts. Don't miss out on a good time. Plan to join us on November 24!

More About Kansas Reads to Preschoolers

If you have a home daycare and are not on our schedule to have your daycare children read to during Kansas Reads to Preschoolers, please give us a call and we'll get a time reserved for you. Phone 626-0180, ext 4.

Fifth Annual Kansas Reads to Preschoolers Coming Up!


Memorial Library will celebrate the 5th Annual Kansas Reads to Preschoolers with two identical storytimes here at the library. The first will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, November 16. The second one will be on Thursday, November 19, at our regular preschool story time of 9:15. The theme this year is exercise. The featured book is Wiggle by Doreen Cronin. Plan to take part in one of these storytimes by calling the library to make a reservation for your child. We'll have a 'wiggling' good time!

1st Annual Costume Contest

Children ages 9 to 18 are invited to dress up in costume, play games, and enjoy light refreshments on Thursday, October 29 at 4pm.

A Very Beginners Computer Class / Un Clase de Computadora de Principinates en Espanol

On Tuesday, November 17 at 9:30 a.m. there will be A Very Beginners Computer Class. There's a limit of four individuals per class so call or stop by the library to sign up.
Most importantly, bring questions with you! We can cover whatever you want to learn. All classes will start off with the basics of logging into a computer, how to use a mouse, create an email account, and create and send email.If you're comfortable with how that works, we can go further and play around with discovering news mediums online, how to online shop, and make online payments. It's all up to you!

Library and Lunch

Over the noon hour, grab your lunch and join us for a book discussion of The Wordy Shipmates by Sarah Vowell, the November pick of the month. Come join us on Tuesday, November 10 at noon.

Story Times


If you didn't get in on the first session of storytimes, here is the schedule for the next one. We will meet on the following Thursdays: November 5, 12, 19 and December 3, 10, 17. There are three age groups: Preschool Storytime is for children ages 3 to 5 and meets from 9:15 to 10:00. Toddle-in Storytime is for youngsters 19 to 36 months and meets from 10:20 to 10:40. Lapsit Storytime is for infants birth to 19 months and meets from 10:55 to 11:15. Plan to come and join the fun!

Don't Miss Next After School Club


After School Club met this past Tuesday for a Magic Tree House session. We read the first book of the series and shared its non-fiction companion. The attendees then made a number of crafts that went with the various books. Don't miss the next meeting on Tuesday, October 27, at 4:00 when students kindergarten through fourth grade will be spending an afternoon with Arthur Aardvark and His Friends.
