Kansas Reads 2010... Dreams from My Father

The State kicks off the fourth annual Kansas Reads program on today! Join Kansans across the state in Kansas Reads... Dreams from My Father by President Barack Obama. The Kansas Center for the Book at the State Library of Kansas and the Kansas Humanities Council invites individuals and groups to participate in this statewide reading program that brings communities together through reading.

The program traditionally kicks off on January 29, Kansas Day, and continues through March 15. The 2010 book was selected by a committee of librarians, publishers, booksellers and authors. In 2009, nearly 10,000 Kansans participated!

Both book discussion groups this month will be focused on the Kansas Reads pick. Join us on Tuesday, February 9 at noon for Library and Lunch. The Book and Movie Series will be held on Thursday, February 18 at 6pm. So, read about his dreams and come talk about yours.
